Role in Context
Gemeente Amsterdam is seeking a Privacy Officer to ensure the adequate protection of the privacy of Amsterdammers and compliance with all applicable privacy regulations.
You will be part of a team of dedicated privacy professionals, each covering specific directorates. Your scope focuses on the social domain, including Sport en Bos and Maatschappelijke Voorzieningen.
Tasks include:

Conducting privacy quick scans and DPIAs

Drafting agreements, protocols, and privacy documentation

Advising on privacy challenges and raising awareness across the organization

Maintaining the AVG processing register

Identifying, prioritizing, and implementing control measures
This is a hands-on advisory role requiring a balance of legal expertise, stakeholder communication, and practical implementation in a complex municipal environment.
Knock-Out Criteria (must be visible in CV)

Recognized HBO diploma (minimum)

WO working and thinking level
-
3–6 years’ demonstrable experience as Privacy Officer in privacy/data protection, preferably in a large and complex organization

3–6 years’ demonstrable knowledge of GDPR/AVG and UAVG
-
Experience with DPIAs and privacy risk management
