Role in Context

A large public sector organization is seeking a Senior Jurist / Privacy Specialist to strengthen privacy compliance and ensure data protection in line with AVG (GDPR) and relevant sector-specific privacy legislation.

You will be responsible for the entire privacy process:

  • Drafting and reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s/GEB’s) for new projects

  • Advising teams to ensure full compliance with AVG and sector-specific requirements

  • Providing guidance and feedback to colleagues on privacy-related questions

  • Embedding privacy requirements within an Agile way of working

  • Sharing knowledge and best practices across the organization

This is a strategic and advisory role that combines deep legal expertise, stakeholder communication, and hands-on implementation in a complex, information-driven environment.


Knock-Out Criteria (must be visible in CV)

  • Completed HBO-level law degree, with specialization in privacy and data protection law

  • CIPP/E certification (mandatory)

  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience working with privacy legislation

  • Proven experience conducting DPIAs (GEB’s) and providing legal advice on privacy-related projects


Award Criteria (preferences)

  • Proven experience drafting at least 50 DPIAs (GEB’s), with clear description of context and impact

  • Demonstrable knowledge of specialized privacy legislation comparable to Wpg (Wet politiegegevens) or Wjsg (Wet justitiële en strafvorderlijke gegevens)

  • Experience with innovative techniques and data analyses

  • Experience in information security

  • Previous experience in a government or large public organization

  • Excellent communication – able to explain complex legal concepts clearly, both orally and in writing

  • Organizational sensitivity – understands internal political dynamics and the impact of decisions
