Cybersecurity Engineer (OT & Business Continuity)

A leading organisation in transport & logistics is strengthening its cybersecurity posture across critical port infrastructure. You work in a high-stakes environment where operational continuity and resilience are non-negotiable—especially for vital OT systems serving international supply chains.
Your mission: bridge strategic security policy and hands-on technical implementation. You'll secure mission-critical systems, advise on feasibility, and ensure the right balance between security, availability, and manageability. You'll support system administrators, drive security automation, and contribute to Business Continuity Management exercises.
Jouw werkzaamheden
- Translate security policy into concrete project implementations alongside the Chief Security Officer
- Design and implement security controls using security-by-design principles across infrastructure projects
- Advise proactively when proposed security measures conflict with operational or technical constraints
- Coordinate penetration tests and execute vulnerability scans and technical risk analyses
- Support administrators in deploying system monitoring for rapid incident detection and response
- Create security work instructions and guide teams on secure operating practices
- Automate security processes and acceptance testing where possible
- Contribute to Business Continuity Management planning and exercise execution

Must-haves
- Minimum 4 years in a similar cybersecurity engineering or infrastructure security role
- Proven expertise securing networks: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems
- Strong Linux knowledge; scripting experience (Bash, Python) required
- Understanding of OT operations and critical infrastructure protection
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
- Willing to undergo additional security vetting
Nice-to-haves
- Background in Information Security or IT Engineering
- Experience with OT monitoring, SCADA systems, or industrial network management
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, IEC 62443, NIS2, or CIS Benchmarks
- Hardware and sensor technology expertise in OT environments
