Business Continuity Manager
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its business continuity management programme. You'll own the end-to-end delivery of BCM projects, from strategy development through to testing and incident response readiness.
You'll work with internal teams and external partners to identify critical business functions, map dependencies, and build recovery strategies that withstand real-world disruptions. Your role bridges security, operations, and senior leadership—translating complex resilience requirements into actionable plans.
This is hands-on project management with strategic impact. You'll shape how the organisation prepares for, responds to, and recovers from incidents.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deliver BCM programmes aligned with organisational risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Conduct business impact analyses (BIA) to identify critical processes, recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO)
- Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Coordinate tabletop exercises, simulations and full-scale tests to validate readiness
- Manage stakeholder communication and training across departments to embed continuity culture
- Monitor BCM maturity against industry frameworks and recommend improvements
- Lead incident response coordination and post-incident reviews to drive lessons learned

Certifications (preferred)
Must-haves
- 5+ years in business continuity, resilience planning or related programme management
- Experience delivering BCM projects from assessment through testing and validation
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 22301 or equivalent BCM framework
- Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken)
Nice-to-haves
- CBCP or ABCP certification
- Experience with BCM software platforms (Everbridge, IBM Resilience, etc.)
- Background in IT disaster recovery, crisis management or incident response
- Familiarity with financial services, critical infrastructure or highly regulated sectors
