Information Security Officer
About the assignment
The client operates in a regulated industry with complex compliance requirements. You'll establish the security governance framework, oversee policy implementation, and drive security awareness across the organisation.
Your focus is balancing operational efficiency with robust risk management. You'll work with business units to understand their security needs and translate regulatory requirements into practical controls.
This role directly influences the organisation's security posture and regulatory standing.
Your responsibilities
- Design and maintain information security policies aligned with ISO 27001, NIS2, and industry standards
- Conduct risk assessments, document findings, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Oversee security compliance audits and manage remediation of identified gaps
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programmes to all employee levels
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, audit teams, and external compliance bodies
- Monitor emerging threats and regulatory changes; update security controls accordingly
- Prepare security reports and compliance documentation for senior leadership and regulators

Must-haves
- 8+ years in information security, compliance, or GRC roles
- Proven experience with ISO 27001 and regulatory frameworks (NIS2, DORA, or equivalent)
- Strong policy writing and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience conducting risk assessments and designing security controls
- Knowledge of audit processes and compliance reporting
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ServiceNow GRC or similar governance platforms
- Background in a regulated industry (finance, healthcare, energy)
- Familiarity with NIST CSF or COBIT frameworks
