Microsoft Entra IAM Specialist (POC)
About the assignment
A leading organisation in the regulated sector is building an Agentic Development Platform. A critical component is determining how Identity & Access Management should be architected for agents, applications, and users at scale.
You will lead a Q4 proof of concept in Microsoft Entra to gain hands-on knowledge of roles, rights, identities, and governance. This POC must deliver both a working technical solution and clear requirements for future IAM implementation.
Your insights will shape how the organisation manages identities across human users, service principals, managed identities, and workload identities—a complex challenge requiring both technical depth and strategic thinking.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement role and rights structures for multiple identity types (users, applications, service principals, workload identities)
- Advise on RBAC, Privileged Identity Management, Access Reviews, and Entitlement Management within Entra
- Assess which IAM requirements can be solved by Entra and where additional Identity Governance platforms are needed
- Investigate identity lifecycle and governance patterns for agents and non-human identities
- Document findings, architectural assumptions, and recommendations from the POC
- Collaborate with architects, security teams, and the ADP development team to surface and validate requirements
- Advise on future-proof IAM design aligned with the broader identity landscape
- Support technical realisation and testing of the proof of concept

Must-haves
- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (not generic Azure)
- Deep knowledge of authorisation, roles, and rights within Entra
- Experience with RBAC, role management, and Enterprise Applications / App Registrations
- Proven experience designing IAM solutions for complex enterprise environments
- Knowledge of workload identities, managed identities, and service principals
- Ability to translate POC findings into architecture decisions and requirements
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Identity Governance & Administration platforms (e.g. One Identity Manager, SailPoint)
- Familiarity with IAM for non-human identities, agents, or machine identities
- Background in regulated sectors (financial services, insurance, government)
- Knowledge of security, audit, and compliance aspects of access control
