About the assignment
Critical infrastructure relies on you to identify and mitigate OT/ICS security risks. You work with legacy systems, real-time environments, and safety-critical operations where downtime isn't an option.
You bridge IT and OT worlds. You understand industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA), PLC programming, and SCADA systems alongside cybersecurity best practices. Your role prevents both data breaches and physical harm.
You conduct risk assessments, design secure network architectures, implement monitoring solutions, and respond to OT-specific incidents. You collaborate with operations teams to balance security with continuous production.
Your responsibilities
- Assess OT/ICS network security posture and identify vulnerabilities in SCADA, HMI, and PLC environments
- Design and implement air-gapped networks, segmentation, and access controls for industrial systems
- Deploy OT-specific monitoring solutions (e.g., network sensors, anomaly detection) and respond to alerts
- Develop OT security policies, incident response procedures, and safety-focused disaster recovery plans
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration tests on operational technology without disrupting production
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate security controls into system design
- Maintain compliance with OT-focused standards (IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework for critical infrastructure)
- Stay current with emerging OT threats, industrial malware, and supply chain risks

Must-haves
- 3+ years experience in OT/ICS security or operational technology environments
- Deep knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA, DNP3) and SCADA/HMI systems
- Experience with IEC 62443 or equivalent OT security standards
- Understanding of PLC programming and control system architecture
- Strong incident response and threat analysis skills in OT contexts
Nice-to-haves
- GICSP or CISSP certification
- Hands-on experience with OT penetration testing (PTES methodology)
- Background in critical infrastructure (energy, water, manufacturing)
- Familiarity with air-gapping and network segmentation tools
