About the assignment
You join a leading organisation where privacy governance shapes competitive strategy, not just regulatory boxes. Your role is to translate complex GDPR, data protection, and privacy regulations into actionable business processes that protect both the organisation and its customers.
You advise leadership on privacy-by-design principles, lead data subject rights requests, and monitor compliance across departments. You balance regulatory requirements with operational efficiency—privacy that enables business, not blocks it.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement privacy policies aligned with GDPR, ePrivacy directives, and emerging regulations like the AI Act
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) for new projects and systems
- Manage data subject access requests (SARs) and privacy breach notifications
- Advise business units on privacy-by-design in product development and marketing initiatives
- Monitor third-party processors and vendor contracts for compliance requirements
- Report privacy risks and compliance metrics to senior management and the board
- Lead privacy training and awareness programmes across the organisation
- Investigate privacy incidents and coordinate remediation

Must-haves
- Deep expertise in GDPR and EU data protection law
- 5+ years in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
- Experience conducting DPIAs and managing data subject requests
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven track record translating regulation into business process
Nice-to-haves
- CIPP/E or equivalent privacy certification
- Experience with privacy management platforms like OneTrust or TrustArc
- Knowledge of sector-specific regulations (finance, healthcare, critical infrastructure)
