About the assignment
You join a leading public sector organisation to provide specialised privacy expertise. The organisation is strengthening its privacy function and needs your experience to embed privacy governance across operations.
You serve as the primary advisor on all privacy-related matters. Your focus is building sustainable privacy frameworks that protect the organisation and its stakeholders while meeting regulatory obligations.
Your responsibilities
- Advise leadership and teams on GDPR compliance and privacy impact assessments
- Develop and implement privacy policies, procedures, and governance structures
- Manage data subject requests and privacy incidents
- Review contracts and third-party agreements for privacy compliance
- Conduct privacy training and awareness programmes for staff
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess compliance gaps
- Document privacy processes and maintain compliance records

Must-haves
- Proven experience as Privacy Officer or DPO in a public or highly regulated organisation
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and EU privacy legislation
- Ability to translate complex privacy concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Structured approach to building privacy governance frameworks
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy technology platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc)
- Familiarity with NIS2 or emerging privacy frameworks
- CIPP/E or CIPM certification
