Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its privacy function. You build a robust data protection programme, embedding privacy into business processes and ensuring compliance with GDPR, DORA, NIS2 and sector-specific regulations.
You're the bridge between legal requirements and operational reality. You advise stakeholders, conduct impact assessments, manage data breaches, and report to leadership on privacy maturity.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures and documentation aligned with GDPR and relevant regulations
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and privacy risk evaluations
- Advise business units on data handling, vendor contracts and third-party data processing
- Manage data breach notifications and incident response coordination
- Monitor regulatory changes and adapt compliance frameworks accordingly
- Deliver privacy awareness training and cultural change initiatives
- Report privacy metrics and maturity status to leadership and relevant boards

Must-haves
- Proven experience in privacy, data protection or compliance roles (3+ years)
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and Dutch/EU data protection law
- Experience conducting DPIAs and managing privacy risks
- Strong stakeholder communication and advisory skills
- Ability to translate technical and legal requirements into business language
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy platforms (OneTrust, Collibra or similar)
- Background in GRC or compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with DORA, NIS2 or AI Act requirements
