Privacy Officer – GRC & Governance Implementation
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its privacy management, governance, and organisational controls. You'll conduct a comprehensive maturity assessment, design privacy and governance processes, and implement them within their GRC platform.
Your mission spans two phases: first, analyse current state and deploy pilot processes with full workflow integration; second, transfer knowledge to the internal team and expand governance coverage. You work independently, determine your schedule, and focus on sustainable capability-building—not dependency.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct privacy maturity self-assessment and analyse governance readiness across the organisation
- Design governance and privacy processes aligned with organisational needs and practical implementation
- Configure and implement GRC platform workflows, process descriptions, roles, and escalations
- Create advisory reports with current state, target vision, and step-by-step improvement roadmap
- Deploy pilot processes within the GRC tool; test workflows and refine based on user feedback
- Coach internal teams on independent process execution, management, and continuous improvement
- Transfer knowledge systematically using 'demonstrate–participate–do independently' methodology
- Guide organisational expansion of governance processes while reducing external dependency

Must-haves
- 5+ years' experience in privacy management, GRC, or governance roles
- Hands-on experience configuring and implementing GRC platforms
- Strong understanding of privacy frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001) and governance structures
- Ability to translate complex governance concepts into practical workflows and documentation
- Proven track record coaching teams and driving organisational capability-building
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with TrustBound, ServiceNow GRC, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with NIS2, DORA, or sector-specific compliance frameworks
- Background in organisational change management or process optimisation
