Privacy & Security Officer
About the assignment
Your organisation is scaling its privacy responsibilities across operations. You are the guardian ensuring data protection isn't delegated to a single department, but woven into decision-making at every level.
You balance regulatory requirements with practical implementation. You guide teams through GDPR compliance, data governance frameworks, and emerging privacy risks. You translate policy into action and measure what matters.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement privacy-by-design principles across business processes
- Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) for new systems and initiatives
- Monitor regulatory changes (GDPR, AI Act, ePrivacy) and adapt policies accordingly
- Develop privacy training and awareness programmes for all staff levels
- Audit data handling practices and recommend remediation actions
- Manage vendor privacy assessments and third-party data processing agreements
- Report privacy incidents and support breach response coordination

Must-haves
- 5+ years privacy or information governance experience
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and EU privacy law
- Track record implementing privacy frameworks in operational settings
- Ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to non-technical audiences
- Dutch language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, Collibra)
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E or CIPM)
- Background in data governance or compliance auditing
