About the assignment
A major organisation is building out its security programme with a clear, ambitious roadmap. You lead this transformation—bridging board-level strategy with technical delivery.
You manage cross-functional projects spanning IAM, SOC modernisation, cloud security, and GRC platforms. You juggle competing priorities, vendor selection, budget allocation, and team coordination across multiple work streams.
This role demands both strategic thinking and hands-on project discipline. You ensure every initiative delivers measurable security outcomes and business value.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a 3-5 year security roadmap aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements
- Manage concurrent security projects: IAM platforms, SOC upgrades, cloud security, GRC tooling, and incident response capabilities
- Lead stakeholder alignment meetings with CISO, CTO, business units, and the board to prioritise initiatives
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and implementation timelines for security technologies
- Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and ROI of security investments
- Track roadmap progress using project management tools; report status and risks to leadership monthly
- Identify dependencies and bottlenecks; adjust priorities and timelines based on business and threat landscape changes
- Build and mentor a project delivery team; establish processes for governance and change control

Must-haves
- 8+ years in security roles, with at least 3 years managing strategic security programmes or roadmaps
- Proven track record delivering large security infrastructure projects (IAM, SOC, cloud, GRC)
- Strong stakeholder management: experience reporting to C-suite and boards
- Budget and vendor management experience in security technology acquisitions
- Fluent in Dutch and English; able to lead meetings and negotiations in both languages
Nice-to-haves
- Background in CISO office or security strategy consulting
- Experience with security programme maturity models (CMMC, SAMM, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with NIS2, DORA, or Dutch regulatory frameworks (BIO 2.0)
