Senior Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A leading government organisation is strengthening information security and privacy (IB&P) across all processes, systems and records. You'll drive the implementation and embedding of a Privacy Management System (NOREA Privacy Control Framework v3.0), working alongside the privacy team, CISO function and process owners.
Your focus: operationalise privacy frameworks, support business units in integrating data protection measures, develop and maintain processing registers, identify privacy risks, and build organisational maturity in privacy governance.
Your responsibilities
- Develop, implement and operationalise the Privacy Management Systematiek across the organisation
- Support line organisation units in embedding data protection within business processes, systems and records
- Create and operationalise privacy policies, frameworks, work instructions and control measures
- Maintain and update key registers, including the processing register and control inventory
- Advise process owners on implementing privacy measures and managing compliance
- Identify privacy risks and translate them into concrete improvement actions
- Contribute to raising the organisation's data protection maturity level
- Report progress to the project lead and support governance bodies

Must-haves
- Minimum 3 years' experience as Privacy Officer, Privacy Advisor, Functionaris Gegevensbescherming, or equivalent
- HBO bachelor degree or higher
- Deep knowledge of GDPR/UAVG and privacy governance frameworks
- Proven experience implementing or operating a Privacy Management System (NOREA PCF or equivalent)
- Ability to advise at operational, tactical and strategic levels
Nice-to-haves
- Privacy Management System implementation experience within a government organisation
- Information security, BIO or ISO 27001-related implementation project experience
- Prior experience in municipal government
- Strong analytical, collaboration, results-driven and communication skills
