Team Manager Identity & Access Management
About the assignment
You manage a team of IAM specialists responsible for identity and access governance. Your role bridges technical depth and strategic leadership, setting standards for how the organisation authenticates, authorises, and manages digital identities.
You build and mentor specialists who implement IAM solutions, design access controls, and ensure compliance with identity frameworks. You translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and champion best practices across the security function.
Your responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IAM engineers and architects
- Define and enforce IAM standards, policies, and architectural patterns
- Design identity governance workflows (JML, access reviews, recertification)
- Oversee implementation and management of IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID)
- Report on IAM maturity, security posture, and compliance to leadership
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new IAM tools and solutions
- Build business cases for IAM investments and drive roadmap execution
- Champion RBAC/ABAC design and privileged access management (PAM) strategy

Must-haves
- 5+ years IAM experience with proven platform expertise (SailPoint, CyberArk, or Okta)
- 3+ years in a team lead or management role within security
- Deep knowledge of identity governance, JML processes, and access control models
- Experience designing and implementing IAM solutions end-to-end
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing security teams
Nice-to-haves
- CISSP or CISM certification
- Experience with privileged access management (PAM) and zero trust architecture
- Background in compliance-driven IAM (ISO 27001, SOX, PCI-DSS)
- Exposure to cloud identity platforms and hybrid environments
