Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
About the assignment
A leading organisation is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to build and mature its security program. You own the strategic direction of information security across the enterprise, translating business objectives into resilient security architecture.
You report to the C-suite and board, owning budget, vendor relationships, and security governance. Your impact spans incident response, compliance, risk management, and security culture transformation across the entire organisation.
Your responsibilities
- Define and execute the 3-5 year security strategy aligned with business goals
- Build and lead the security team, including SOC, GRC, IAM, and vulnerability management functions
- Establish security governance frameworks, policies, and controls (ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2)
- Manage security budget, vendor partnerships, and tool stack investments
- Report security metrics, risk posture, and incidents to board and executives
- Drive security awareness and cultural transformation across the organisation
- Oversee incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning

Must-haves
- 12+ years cybersecurity experience with 5+ years in CISO or equivalent leadership role
- Proven track record building and scaling security teams and programs
- Deep knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2) and compliance drivers
- Experience presenting to board, executive stakeholders, and managing security budgets
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, risk management, and vendor governance
Nice-to-haves
- CISSP, CISM, or CCISO certification
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, energy, government)
- Background in incident response and crisis management
- Familiarity with emerging threats (AI/ML security, supply chain risk, cloud-native threats)
