IAM Functional Manager
About the assignment
A major organisation is strengthening its identity and access management function. You will own the operational management of IAM platforms, ensuring secure user provisioning, timely access reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
You bridge technology and business needs. You work with stakeholders to define access policies, monitor system performance, and drive continuous improvement in how identities are managed across the organisation.
Your responsibilities
- Manage user lifecycle processes: provisioning, modification, and deprovisioning across IAM platforms
- Conduct regular access reviews and certifications to ensure least-privilege principles are enforced
- Monitor IAM system performance, availability, and security metrics
- Support RBAC and ABAC policy design and implementation with stakeholder input
- Document and maintain IAM procedures, workflows, and governance policies
- Collaborate with security, HR, and IT teams to resolve access-related incidents
- Identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to IAM controls

Must-haves
- 3+ years in IAM operations or functional management
- Hands-on experience with at least one major IAM platform
- Understanding of RBAC, ABAC, and user lifecycle management
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with access governance tools like SailPoint or Okta
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, SOX, GDPR
- CISSP or CISM certification
