IAM Consultant – Non-Human Identities
About the assignment
Non-human identities—service accounts, APIs, containers, and infrastructure components—represent a critical but often overlooked attack surface. You work with a leading organisation to establish governance, lifecycle management, and access control frameworks for these entities.
You translate business requirements into technical solutions using IAM platforms and secure credential management tools. Your focus: eliminating standing privileges, automating provisioning/deprovisioning, and maintaining audit trails.
Your impact: reduce lateral movement risk, accelerate secure DevOps practices, and enable compliance with modern security standards.
Your responsibilities
- Design non-human identity governance models (service accounts, applications, infrastructure) aligned with RBAC and ABAC principles
- Implement and configure credential management solutions to eliminate static passwords and enforce least privilege
- Automate provisioning and deprovisioning workflows for application and infrastructure identities across hybrid environments
- Establish monitoring and alerting for anomalous non-human identity behaviour using SIEM and IAM analytics
- Conduct access reviews and remediate over-privileged service accounts and application identities
- Document identity policies, runbooks, and architecture for knowledge transfer and compliance
- Advise on integration with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration platforms for secure identity injection
