OT Cyber Security Senior Manager
About the assignment
A leading organisation in critical infrastructure is seeking an experienced OT security leader to establish and mature their operational technology security programme. You own the strategic direction of OT cyber defences, bridge the gap between IT and OT teams, and ensure systems remain secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.
The challenge: OT environments face unique threats—from legacy systems to supply chain risks—requiring specialised knowledge. You lead your team to design threat models, implement security controls, and respond to incidents while maintaining operational continuity.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and execute OT cyber security strategy aligned with business and regulatory objectives
- Build and manage the OT security team, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Design security architecture for operational technology systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks
- Establish security governance, policies, and incident response procedures for OT environments
- Lead risk assessments and vulnerability management programmes specific to OT infrastructure
- Collaborate with operations teams to implement controls without compromising system availability
- Report security posture and emerging threats to executive leadership and board

Must-haves
- 10+ years in OT/ICS cyber security with hands-on technical knowledge
- Proven experience leading security teams and managing budgets
- Deep understanding of OT architecture, protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC), and legacy systems
- Knowledge of critical infrastructure protection, compliance frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF)
- Track record implementing security programmes in production OT environments
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in energy, water, or utilities sectors
- Familiarity with threat intelligence specific to industrial control systems
- Background in both IT and OT security leadership
