OT Security Engineer
About the assignment
A leading organisation operating critical infrastructure needs an OT Security Engineer to safeguard operational technology environments against sophisticated cyber threats. You'll work at the intersection of IT and OT, where security decisions directly impact safety and availability.
Your focus is hardening industrial control systems, monitoring for anomalies, and responding to incidents. You'll collaborate with operations teams to implement security measures without disrupting production.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deploy security controls for industrial control systems, SCADA, and related OT infrastructure
- Monitor OT networks for suspicious activity and security deviations using IDS/IPS and log analysis
- Conduct vulnerability assessments on OT equipment and remediate findings with minimal downtime
- Develop incident response procedures specific to OT environments and lead containment efforts
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to balance security with availability requirements
- Maintain compliance with IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and sector-specific standards
- Document OT network architecture, asset inventories, and security policies

Must-haves
- 3+ years experience in OT/ICS security or industrial control systems
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC UA, DNP3)
- Experience with network segmentation and air-gap architectures
- Understanding of safety integrity levels (SIL) and functional safety
- Hands-on experience with OT security tools and monitoring platforms
Nice-to-haves
- GICSP or similar OT-focused certification
- Experience with cloud-based OT monitoring solutions
- Background in industrial automation or process engineering
