IAM Programme Manager
About the assignment
You manage end-to-end IAM programme delivery, from strategic planning through operational handover. You work with business stakeholders, security teams, and technology partners to implement identity governance frameworks that reduce risk and improve user experience.
Your focus is on building scalable, sustainable IAM capabilities that align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements. You balance technical excellence with business pragmatism, ensuring programmes deliver measurable value.
Your responsibilities
- Define IAM programme roadmaps, priorities and success metrics aligned with business strategy
- Manage stakeholder engagement across IT, security, compliance and business units
- Oversee identity governance, provisioning and access review processes
- Lead vendor selection and implementation of IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID or similar)
- Monitor programme health, risks and dependencies; escalate issues proactively
- Ensure compliance with IAM policies, standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, NIS2)
- Drive organisational change management and IAM awareness across teams
- Build and mentor IAM team members; develop internal capability

Must-haves
- 7+ years in IAM programme or project management roles
- Proven experience implementing identity governance solutions
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Understanding of IAM architecture, access controls (RBAC/ABAC) and compliance drivers
- Track record of delivering complex programmes on time and within budget
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SailPoint, CyberArk or Okta implementations
- Knowledge of CISSP, CISM or similar security certifications
- Background in agile transformation or organisational change management
