Security Project Manager
About the assignment
You oversee security-focused projects from initiation through delivery. Your role bridges the security team and business stakeholders, ensuring compliance requirements and security controls are integrated without derailing project schedules.
You'll manage medium to large-scale programmes: infrastructure upgrades, security tool implementations, policy roll-outs, and compliance migrations. You identify risks early, escalate blockers, and keep teams aligned on scope and deadlines.
This is hands-on delivery with strategic impact—you shape how security gets embedded into the organisation's DNA.
Your responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and track security projects using structured methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
- Identify security risks and compliance dependencies within project scope; escalate to stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (security, IT ops, audit, business units) and manage dependencies
- Report progress, budgets, and risks to leadership; adjust plans based on changing priorities
- Manage vendor contracts and service providers for security implementations
- Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and handover to operations teams
- Ensure security controls and auditable evidence are embedded throughout project delivery

Must-haves
- 5+ years project management experience in IT, security, or infrastructure environments
- Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder programmes with competing priorities
- Strong understanding of security concepts, compliance frameworks, and IT risk
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
Nice-to-haves
- Background in security operations, GRC, or IAM programmes
- Experience with vendor and third-party management in security contexts
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIS2, or DORA compliance transformations
