Senior Security Engineer
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its security posture and needs a Senior Security Engineer to take ownership of infrastructure security. You'll architect solutions that prevent breaches, respond to threats, and ensure systems meet compliance standards.
You'll work on everything from firewall strategy to zero-trust architecture. Your decisions shape how the organisation defends against evolving threats, and you'll mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deploy security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation
- Lead security incident response and coordinate remediation across systems
- Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and hardening baselines
- Monitor security logs and threat intelligence to detect anomalies and threats
- Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to implement security controls
- Document security architectures and create runbooks for security operations

Must-haves
- 8+ years of hands-on security engineering or infrastructure security experience
- Deep expertise in network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention
- Proven experience designing and implementing security architectures
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
- Experience with security incident response and threat analysis
Nice-to-haves
- Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of application security and secure development practices
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CCNA Security
