Solution Architect IT/OT Security
About the assignment
You architect security solutions that protect both IT and OT environments—a critical challenge as operational technology increasingly connects to corporate networks. You design defence strategies that account for the unique constraints of industrial systems: 24/7 uptime requirements, legacy equipment, and safety-critical operations.
Your role bridges the gap between traditional IT security and industrial automation specialists. You translate business and operational requirements into secure, resilient architectures that don't compromise production efficiency.
Your responsibilities
- Design end-to-end security architectures for converged IT/OT environments
- Assess current infrastructure and identify segmentation, monitoring, and protection gaps
- Develop secure baseline configurations for industrial control systems and critical assets
- Create incident response and business continuity plans specific to OT threats
- Recommend and evaluate security tools, platforms, and vendors
- Lead architecture reviews and security assessments with technical and operational teams
- Document security standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations

Must-haves
- 8+ years in IT security architecture with 3+ years focused on OT/ICS environments
- Deep knowledge of industrial control systems, SCADA, PLC, and RTU architectures
- Proven track record designing secure network segmentation and defence-in-depth strategies
- Strong understanding of IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and regulatory compliance for critical infrastructure
- Experience with threat modelling and risk assessment in converged IT/OT networks
Nice-to-haves
- Background in process control, automation engineering, or operational technology before security
- Experience with specific industrial sectors: energy, water, manufacturing, or utilities
- Knowledge of secure remote access and maintenance solutions for OT environments
