Cloud Security Specialist AWS
About the assignment
A leading organisation is expanding its AWS cloud footprint and needs a security specialist to build robust defenses. You'll architect security solutions that protect data, applications, and infrastructure while maintaining performance and compliance.
You'll work with development and infrastructure teams to embed security into every layer of the cloud stack. Your focus is preventing misconfigurations, detecting anomalies, and responding to incidents in real time.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS security controls using Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity
- Conduct security reviews of AWS architectures and provide hardening recommendations
- Manage IAM policies, roles, and access controls across multiple AWS accounts
- Respond to security incidents and perform root cause analysis in cloud environments
- Ensure compliance with CIS Benchmarks and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to embed security in CI/CD pipelines

Must-haves
- 3+ years hands-on experience securing AWS environments
- Strong knowledge of AWS security services and IAM architecture
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD security
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks (CIS, NIST)
- Proven incident response and troubleshooting skills
Nice-to-haves
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification
- Experience with containerised security (ECS, EKS)
- Knowledge of SIEM integration and cloud log analysis
