Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer
About the assignment
The energy transition demands a secure, stable, and future-proof digital landscape. As a Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer, you ensure security solutions integrate seamlessly with infrastructure and function reliably in production.
You liaise between architecture, engineering, and operations teams, enabling digitalisation while supporting security operations. You work with complex environments where security, automation, and integration converge.
This is a 12-month contract (with extension potential) based in Haarlem, with 2 days on-site weekly. You'll work in Dutch with a committed technical team.
Your responsibilities
- Design, implement, and integrate technical architectures for SIEM, SOAR, log management, and threat intelligence platforms
- Manage and maintain business-critical security products and services in production environments
- Automate deployments and technical management using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
- Integrate and automate connections between security solutions to support incident response workflows
- Translate business requirements into concrete technical solutions with user stories and implementation plans
- Collaborate with digitalisation and security teams to ensure safe development and optimal operations

Must-haves
- Proven experience designing and implementing security infrastructure at scale
- Strong hands-on expertise with SIEM, SOAR, or similar security platforms
- Experience automating security operations and integrating disparate tools
- Dutch language proficiency (team communication in Dutch)
- Ability to translate business problems into technical architecture
Nice-to-haves
- Background in energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Familiarity with incident response processes and security automation frameworks
