Compliance Officer Privacy & Security
About the assignment
You own compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, AI Act) and security standards (ISO 27001, NIS2). You work across teams to embed privacy-by-design and security governance into business processes.
Your challenge: translate complex regulations into practical controls, manage audit readiness, and advise leadership on emerging risks. You'll coordinate with Legal, IT, and business units to close compliance gaps.
Your responsibilities
- Monitor GDPR, ePrivacy, AI Act and industry-specific compliance obligations; advise leadership on regulatory changes
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and security risk evaluations for new projects and systems
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures and control documentation
- Coordinate internal audits, external audits and certification activities (ISO 27001, NIS2)
- Lead data protection incident response; document and report breaches to authorities where required
- Track remediation of audit findings and security recommendations; report progress to management
- Engage with Data Protection Authority inquiries and respond to regulatory requests
- Train and raise awareness among staff on privacy and security obligations

Must-haves
- 5+ years in privacy compliance, data protection or GRC roles
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and NIS2 requirements
- Experience designing and implementing privacy controls and policies
- Ability to document complex compliance requirements for technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc or similar GRC platforms
- Background in ISO 27001 or security audits
- CIPP/E or CISA certification
