ISO 27001 Implementation Project Lead
About the assignment
A leading organisation in the transport sector is implementing ISO 27001 across its office infrastructure. The gap analysis and implementation roadmap are complete. You'll take ownership of execution: managing the project team and stakeholders, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget, and steering risk mitigation.
This is a 6-month temporary assignment with potential extension (max 2 years total). You report to the Security Office (CISO and ISO managers) and collaborate closely with them.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the project team and coordinate stakeholders to execute the implementation plan on schedule and within budget
- Monitor project progress against financial and timeline targets; identify and manage risks proactively
- Ensure ISO 27001 controls are correctly embedded across office infrastructure
- Communicate status, blockers, and decisions to the Security Office and leadership
- Drive compliance activities and coordinate with relevant business units for control implementation
- Document implementation progress and prepare for certification audit activities
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and adoption across the organisation

Certifications (preferred)
Must-haves
- 10+ years in information security, risk & compliance
- Proven track record delivering successful ISO 27001 implementations through certification
- HBO or WO degree (preferably in IT Security or Cybersecurity)
- Project management experience with PRINCE2 and/or Agile methodologies
- Structured, analytical working style with strong stakeholder communication skills
- Only available as detachee/temporary worker (no self-employed contractors)
Nice-to-haves
- Broad knowledge of modern threats, security controls, and IT architecture (especially Microsoft and cloud)
- Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Familiarity with NEN 7510, NIS2, or BIO 2.0 implementations
