About the assignment
A leading organisation in the public sector seeks a Local Information Security Officer for its ICT cluster. You act as the central security contact, translating compliance frameworks and architecture principles into practical security measures across ICT operations.
You work at the intersection of policy, technology, and execution—advising on risk mitigation, embedding security into projects, and ensuring audit findings are resolved. This is a 6-month contract role based in Utrecht.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct data classifications and risk analyses with ICT stakeholders
- Recommend appropriate security controls and monitor implementation
- Embed cybersecurity requirements into ICT project lifecycles
- Translate security policy and architecture frameworks into operational actions
- Participate in cybersecurity assessments and track audit findings to closure
- Report security status and risks to ICT management and the Cybersecurity team
- Support security awareness and training programmes across the organisation

Must-haves
- HBO-level education with extensive IT cybersecurity experience
- Proven knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, BIO)
- Demonstrated experience documenting, monitoring, and reporting on security risks
- Strong advisory and stakeholder communication skills
- Dutch language proficiency for internal communication
Nice-to-haves
- Formal certification in CRISC, ISO 27001 Implementation, or SSCP
- Experience in public sector or government ICT environments
- Analytical mindset with proactive approach to emerging risks
