About the assignment
You act as the go-to privacy advisor for organisations serious about data protection. You translate GDPR and privacy regulations into actionable strategies that reduce risk and build stakeholder trust.
Your work spans assessment, policy development, and hands-on support. You help organisations identify compliance gaps, design privacy controls, and embed privacy thinking across teams. You're part advisor, part implementer, part educator.
Your responsibilities
- Assess current data protection practices against GDPR, national laws, and sector-specific regulations
- Design and implement privacy-by-design frameworks for new projects and systems
- Develop data protection impact assessments (DPIA) and privacy policies
- Train teams and leadership on privacy obligations and data handling best practices
- Support Data Protection Officers (DPO) and privacy teams with policy advice and compliance roadmaps
- Review contracts and vendor agreements for privacy and data processing compliance
- Monitor regulatory updates and advise on compliance implications

Must-haves
- Deep knowledge of GDPR, national privacy laws, and data protection principles
- Experience translating compliance requirements into practical policies and controls
- Ability to communicate privacy concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English and Dutch
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar)
- Background in data protection, law, or compliance roles
- Familiarity with AI Act, NIS2, or sector-specific regulations (finance, healthcare)
