Privacy Data Cleansing Specialist
About the assignment
A leading organisation in financial services or technology needs you to systematically identify, classify, and remove unnecessary personal data from production and test environments. Data sprawl is a compliance risk and operational burden.
You'll work with IT teams, developers, and data stewards to map data flows, discover dormant customer records, and execute secure deletion campaigns. Your work directly reduces GDPR breach risk and improves data minimisation.
Your responsibilities
- Audit databases, data lakes, and legacy systems to locate personal data
- Classify data by sensitivity level and retention requirements using GDPR principles
- Design and execute safe data deletion workflows without breaking applications
- Develop automated data cleansing scripts and validation checks
- Document data lineage and maintain a register of cleansing activities
- Coordinate with development and operations teams on implementation timelines
- Report cleansing metrics and compliance status to privacy and compliance leadership
