Privacy Officer (2 FTE)
About the assignment
You operate as the organisation's privacy backbone, translating complex data protection regulations into actionable strategy. You manage GDPR compliance, conduct data protection impact assessments, and advise business units on privacy-by-design principles.
Your impact extends across the entire organisation. You respond to data subject requests, manage vendor contracts for data processing compliance, and lead incident response when personal data is at risk. You report to senior leadership and ensure the organisation meets NIS2, ePrivacy, and emerging AI Act requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and enforce privacy policies aligned with GDPR, NIS2, ePrivacy Directive, and AI Act requirements
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) for new systems, projects, and third-party integrations
- Manage Subject Access Requests (SARs) and data subject rights within legal timelines
- Monitor vendor contracts for Data Processing Agreements (DPA) compliance and conduct privacy audits
- Lead privacy incident investigations and coordinate breach notifications to authorities and affected individuals
- Design and deliver privacy awareness training to build organisational data protection culture
- Advise product, engineering, and business teams on privacy-by-design and data minimisation principles

Must-haves
- 5+ years privacy, compliance, or data protection experience
- Expert knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and NIS2 regulations
- Experience managing Data Protection Impact Assessments and Subject Access Requests
- Strong stakeholder management: ability to advise business units across all departments
- Fluent Dutch and English (written and verbal)
Nice-to-haves
- CIPP/E or CIPM certification
- Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc, or Collibra platforms
- Background in vendor risk management and DPA negotiation
- Exposure to AI Act or emerging privacy regulations
