About the assignment
You report directly to senior management and act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) or Privacy Officer, ensuring the organisation meets GDPR, AI Act, and sector-specific data protection requirements.
Your impact spans governance—building privacy policies, managing data subject requests, conducting impact assessments—and strategy, advising business units on lawful processing and handling data breaches.
You work cross-functionally with IT, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing to embed privacy by design into products, systems, and processes.
Your responsibilities
- Oversee GDPR compliance and manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), rectification, and deletion requests
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments for new systems and projects
- Draft and maintain privacy policies, notices, and data processing agreements aligned with AI Act and NIS2
- Lead breach investigation and notification procedures, coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders
- Train and advise business teams on lawful processing, consent management, and third-party risk
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on current operations and vendor contracts
- Report privacy metrics and compliance status to executive leadership and regulatory bodies

Must-haves
- 5+ years in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
- Solid understanding of GDPR and EU privacy regulations
- Experience managing DSARs, DPIAs, and breach response
- Strong communication skills—advising both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with privacy tools (OneTrust, TrustArc, or equivalent)
Nice-to-haves
- Background in DPO or external privacy consultancy
- Knowledge of AI Act and emerging privacy frameworks
- Experience with privacy governance platforms and automation
- CIPP/E or similar certification
