About the assignment
A leading Dutch public sector organisation managing property rights and cadastral data seeks an experienced Privacy Officer to strengthen its privacy team. The current officer has stepped into an interim Chief Privacy Officer role, creating an immediate need for operational and tactical privacy support.
You'll handle diverse privacy challenges simultaneously: conducting DPIAs, managing data breach responses, advising procurement teams, and delivering privacy awareness training. You operate in a complex stakeholder environment where conflicting priorities, tight timelines, and resource constraints require disciplined risk-based decision-making.
Your responsibilities
- Identify privacy risks and propose mitigation solutions across organisational projects
- Advise procurement and tendering processes from a privacy perspective; draft data processing agreements
- Conduct and guide complex Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and ensure risk documentation and remediation
- Respond to data breaches: analyse incidents, coordinate recovery measures, monitor remediation
- Deliver privacy awareness training and educational presentations to internal stakeholders
- Advise on GDPR, UAVG, and related legislation; interpret privacy policy application
- Implement and maintain privacy management procedures aligned with organisational policy
- Act as primary privacy contact for complex and routine questions from all business units

Must-haves
- Minimum 2 years verified experience as Privacy Officer in a public sector organisation
- Minimum 2 years working knowledge of GDPR, UAVG, and related Dutch privacy legislation
- HBO-level education (law, ICT, or public administration) or equivalent professional background
- Proven experience managing multiple simultaneous privacy matters with conflicting priorities and stakeholders
- Fluent Dutch (CV submission required in Dutch)
Nice-to-haves
- Background in public administration or autonomous government bodies with broad stakeholder engagement
- Experience with privacy governance in property/cadastral or similarly complex regulated environments
- Certification in privacy law (CIPP/E) or privacy impact assessment methodology
