Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A major Dutch education organisation is strengthening its privacy and compliance function. You'll work alongside the Data Protection Officer, focusing on operational privacy matters rather than strategic governance.
Your impact: you'll establish and maintain processing registers, conduct DPIAs, handle data breach notifications, and ensure the organisation meets GDPR obligations across all departments.
Your responsibilities
- Manage and update processing registers and data breach registers
- Review and update privacy documentation (privacy notices, incident procedures, data retention policies, internal guidelines)
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments for new projects
- Respond to privacy inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Perform website privacy compliance scans
- Handle data breach notifications and remediation

Must-haves
- Completed university law degree
- CIPP/E certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years proven privacy experience in government or public sector organisations
- Strong advisory skills on GDPR and data protection regulations
- Ability to conduct DPIAs and manage complex privacy questions
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy impact assessment tools
- Knowledge of educational sector privacy requirements
- Political and organisational sensitivity
