Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its privacy function to meet evolving regulatory demands. You'll own privacy compliance, from risk assessments to incident response. Your work directly influences how the organisation collects, processes, and protects personal data.
You'll operate across business units, engaging stakeholders from operations to leadership. Privacy isn't just compliance—it's a competitive advantage and trust builder. You'll translate complex regulations into actionable policy.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain privacy policies aligned with GDPR, AI Act, and sector-specific regulations
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and systems
- Manage privacy incident response procedures and breach notifications
- Advise business teams on lawful basis, data processing agreements, and third-party compliance
- Monitor regulatory changes and update governance frameworks accordingly
- Create privacy awareness training and embed data protection culture
- Oversee vendor assessments and ensure processor contracts meet legal requirements
- Report privacy metrics and compliance status to senior management and the board

Must-haves
- 5+ years in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
- Expert knowledge of GDPR and applicable privacy laws
- Experience managing data protection incidents and breach notifications
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven track record implementing privacy frameworks in regulated environments
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, Collibra)
- Background in AI governance and algorithmic accountability
- Familiarity with NIS2, DORA, or other emerging EU regulations
