Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A leading government organisation is strengthening its privacy discipline. You join the Operations team to design, implement, and evolve a robust privacy management system that integrates with existing governance structures.
Your challenge: transform privacy from a compliance checkpoint into a strategic enabler. You'll work across teams—data processors, information advisors, risk management—to embed privacy by design into daily operations. You'll translate regulations into practical workflows, frameworks, and decision-making tools that teams actually use.
Your impact: a government body that operates with transparency, trust, and regulatory confidence.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement a privacy management system aligned with governance and organisational structure
- Develop a privacy control framework with clear objectives, controls, and audit criteria based on industry standards
- Build and maintain an accurate, complete processing register documenting all data handling activities
- Guide teams through privacy governance implementation: dossiers, decision logs, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Create practical templates, checklists, and decision matrices that translate policy into action
- Identify and escalate privacy risks early, influencing programmes and initiatives
- Advise stakeholders on privacy questions in collaboration with other privacy officers and compliance teams
- Drive standardisation and uniform privacy practices across the organisation
