Privacy Officer (Medior)
About the assignment
The privacy team at the Police Academy is expanding. The permanent Privacy Officer is building the privacy organisation—developing policy, processes, and governance frameworks. You step in as their operational counterpart, owning day-to-day privacy responsibilities so they can focus on strategic growth.
Your main focus: execute Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and provide privacy counsel to internal teams. Privacy awareness across the organisation is growing rapidly, which means volume and complexity are increasing. You'll bring structure and consistency to these critical tasks.
This is public sector work. You'll see how privacy principles apply in a law enforcement context—where balancing operational needs with fundamental rights matters deeply.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) from intake to sign-off
- Provide privacy advice to internal stakeholders on data handling and processing
- Document and communicate privacy requirements clearly
- Support privacy awareness and knowledge-sharing across teams
- Maintain privacy records and track ongoing compliance activities
- Escalate complex privacy issues to the permanent Privacy Officer
- Help refine privacy processes as the function matures
