Privacy & Security Officer
About the assignment
A leading organisation needs you to embed privacy and security into every process. You'll bridge two critical domains: ensuring GDPR/NIS2 compliance while strengthening the security posture.
You handle data subject requests, lead privacy impact assessments, and advise on security controls. You're the trusted voice when departments ask: "Is this data handling compliant? Is this secure?"
Your responsibilities
- Manage GDPR compliance: handle data subject requests, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), and update privacy documentation
- Monitor NIS2 and relevant regulatory frameworks; advise leadership on compliance roadmaps and timelines
- Design and enforce data handling policies; ensure security controls align with privacy requirements
- Conduct privacy and security training for staff; build awareness across the organisation
- Audit third-party processors and vendors; assess data protection agreements and security standards
- Investigate data incidents; coordinate breach notifications and post-incident reviews
- Report quarterly to management on compliance status, risks, and remediation progress

Must-haves
- 5+ years in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
- Fluent in GDPR and Dutch/EU data protection regulations
- Experience managing data subject requests and privacy incidents
- Strong audit and documentation skills; meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with NIS2 or critical infrastructure compliance
- Hands-on use of OneTrust or similar privacy management platforms
- Background in cybersecurity or security governance
- Knowledge of AI Act or emerging privacy regulations
