Privacy Specialist / Privacy Officer
About the assignment
A leading organisation is strengthening its privacy function to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes including GDPR, AI Act, and sector-specific rules.
You'll own privacy impact assessments, data processing agreements, breach response, and vendor risk management. You'll report on compliance maturity and advise leadership on privacy implications of new products and operations.
This role balances legal rigour with business enablement—you make privacy practical, not just a checkbox.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new systems, products, and processing activities
- Draft and maintain privacy documentation: data processing agreements, privacy notices, retention schedules, and policies
- Manage data subject requests (access, deletion, portability) and ensure timely, lawful responses
- Investigate and report data breaches; coordinate with legal, IT, and incident response teams
- Audit third-party processors and controllers; assess vendor privacy risk and contract compliance
- Train business stakeholders on privacy obligations and privacy-by-design principles
- Monitor regulatory changes (GDPR, AI Act, ePrivacy, sector rules); update policies and controls accordingly
- Report privacy metrics and compliance status to leadership and data protection authorities where required
