About the assignment
A leading education institution is strengthening its security posture. You join a young, growing Information Security & Privacy team reporting to the CISO. You'll support implementation of new organisation-wide information security and privacy policies.
You operate as both advisor and ambassador. You balance business needs with security requirements, guide risk assessments, and embed governance across projects. You work 3 days per week on a temporary project peak, with flexibility to match your expertise in either security or privacy domains.
Your responsibilities
- Advise on information security and privacy policy implementation across the organisation
- Conduct risk analyses, data classifications and DPIAs to identify security gaps
- Design and embed Governance, Risk & Compliance controls for information security and privacy
- Monitor policy compliance operationally and maintain policy documentation
- Guide projects proactively to balance customer and organisational interests with security requirements
- Build relationships across departments and management levels to embed security culture

Must-haves
- HBO or WO degree in relevant discipline
- Minimum 2 years in a comparable security or privacy role
- Proven knowledge of information security and privacy frameworks
- Understanding of information systems and technical security controls in education environments
- Ability to engage stakeholders across all organisational levels
Nice-to-haves
- Active information security certification (CISM, CISSP or equivalent)
- Experience in higher education or complex organisations
- Strong networking skills and comfort with organisational politics
