Senior Privacy Officer
About the assignment
You take ownership of the organisation's privacy program across all operations. You translate complex regulations into practical policies, conduct privacy impact assessments, and ensure data handling practices meet legal requirements.
You report to senior leadership and act as the trusted advisor on privacy risks. You manage vendor relationships, respond to data subject requests, and prepare the organisation for audits by regulators and external parties.
Your responsibilities
- Design and maintain privacy policies, data protection impact assessments (DPIA), and consent frameworks aligned with GDPR and emerging regulations
- Lead privacy-by-design initiatives across product development and business operations
- Manage data subject rights requests (access, deletion, portability) and maintain audit trails
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and recommend remediation actions to leadership
- Prepare for and support regulatory audits, investigations, and compliance certifications
- Train teams on privacy obligations and data handling best practices
- Monitor regulatory changes (GDPR, AI Act, NIS2, sector-specific rules) and advise on impact

Must-haves
- 5+ years privacy or data protection experience, ideally as DPO or Privacy Manager
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and ability to apply it across business functions
- Experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar)
- Strong communication skills to explain privacy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in Dutch and English
Nice-to-haves
- CIPP/E or CIPM certification
- Experience with AI Act or other emerging privacy regulations
- Background in data governance or information security
