About the assignment

A leading organisation across multiple sectors is strengthening its privacy function. You'll own end-to-end privacy governance: from GDPR and emerging regulations (NIS2, AI Act) to vendor risk assessments and incident response.

You report to senior leadership and work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams. Your decisions directly influence how the organisation handles personal data and maintains stakeholder trust.

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on regulatory management. You'll design policies, lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), manage international data transfers, and ensure the organisation stays ahead of enforcement trends.

Your responsibilities

  • Own GDPR, NIS2, AI Act, and ePrivacy compliance roadmaps; drive remediation and controls
  • Lead privacy-by-design reviews across product development, cloud migrations, and vendor integrations
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments; document findings
  • Manage data subject rights requests (access, deletion, portability) and regulatory inquiries
  • Build and mentor the privacy team; define processes, tooling, and training programs
  • Negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with vendors
  • Report privacy metrics, incidents, and risks to the board and relevant supervisory authorities
  • Stay current on regulatory changes; advise the organisation on emerging privacy legislation
