IAM Security Engineer
About the assignment
A leading organisation is modernising its identity and access management infrastructure to support secure, scalable growth. You'll own the design, implementation, and optimisation of IAM solutions that protect critical applications and data across the enterprise.
You'll work with cross-functional teams to define access policies, manage user provisioning workflows, and respond to security incidents involving identity threats. Your work directly impacts the organisation's ability to grant secure access while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deploy IAM architectures using industry-standard platforms
- Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access recertification processes
- Implement role-based and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC) policies
- Monitor and audit identity-related security events and access violations
- Conduct security assessments of IAM systems and remediate vulnerabilities
- Document IAM processes, policies, and technical designs
- Collaborate with application teams on access requirements and integration

Must-haves
- Proven experience with at least one major IAM platform (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, or Entra ID)
- Strong knowledge of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) and directory services
- Understanding of access control models (RBAC, ABAC) and identity governance
- Experience with user provisioning workflows and identity lifecycle management
- Solid troubleshooting and documentation skills
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with privileged access management (PAM) tools
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework for identity threats
- Background in compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIS2)
- Experience with API integration and scripting for IAM automation
