Privacy Officer (DPO)
About the assignment
A leading organisation across multiple sectors is strengthening its privacy function. You'll own the end-to-end data protection programme—from policy development to incident response.
You report on compliance status to leadership and the board. You're the first point of contact for data subject requests, regulatory inquiries, and privacy-by-design initiatives. This role demands both technical knowledge and stakeholder influence.

Your responsibilities
- Develop and enforce data protection policies aligned with GDPR, NIS2, and sector-specific regulations
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) for new systems, projects, and processing activities
- Manage data subject requests (SAR, deletion, portability) within statutory timelines
- Lead privacy incident investigations and notifications to regulators where required
- Audit data processing across departments and recommend remediation steps
- Advise business units on privacy requirements during design and procurement phases
- Maintain Records of Processing Activity (RoPA) and update compliance documentation
- Represent the organisation in regulatory interactions and DPA inquiries

Must-haves
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection law
- 3+ years experience in privacy or data protection roles
- Ability to translate compliance requirements into business action
- Experience conducting DPIAs and managing data subject requests
- Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar privacy platforms
- Familiarity with NIS2, DORA, or AI Act requirements
- Track record building privacy-first cultures in regulated sectors
