Senior IAM Designer (Architect)
About the assignment
You join a senior role shaping the organisation's IAM landscape. You design solutions that balance security, compliance, and business agility across hybrid and cloud environments. Your work directly impacts how thousands of users access critical systems safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on architect role. You don't just plan—you guide implementation, solve integration challenges, and mentor teams. You'll work with modern IAM platforms, architect identity governance workflows, and ensure RBAC/ABAC models scale with the business.
Your responsibilities
- Design enterprise IAM architectures covering identity governance, access control, and provisioning workflows
- Evaluate and recommend IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID, ForgeRock) based on business and security requirements
- Lead implementation projects: define technical specifications, oversee platform deployment, and validate against security standards
- Define role-based and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC) models aligned with business functions and compliance
- Build JML lifecycle automation: joiners, movers, leavers workflows and deprovisioning controls
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate IAM across the technology stack
- Document architecture decisions, governance policies, and runbooks for operations teams
- Stay current with IAM trends, emerging threats, and evolving compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2)

Must-haves
- 8+ years IAM experience with 3+ years designing enterprise architectures
- Expert knowledge of at least two major IAM platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Entra ID, ForgeRock)
- Deep understanding of identity governance, access control models, and JML automation
- Proven success leading large IAM implementations end-to-end
- Strong grasp of security standards (ISO 27001, NIST) and compliance requirements
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud IAM deployments
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and modern authentication protocols
- CISSP or CISM certification
