Senior Privacy Consultant (GDPR Specialist)
About the assignment
A local government organisation handling regular GDPR-related requests seeks independent legal expertise to assess and advise on complex data subject rights cases.
You will analyse intricate GDPR requests—including access, deletion, processing restrictions, and other rights—and deliver legally sound, written advice. Each case requires you to determine applicable GDPR provisions, identify potential grounds for refusal (repetitive, manifestly unfounded, or excessive requests), and document a reasoned position with supporting legal analysis.
You work autonomously, determining your own approach and timeline while meeting agreed delivery dates. The organisation will evaluate only your final deliverable: comprehensive legal advice ready for their decision-making process.
Your responsibilities
- Assess complex GDPR subject access, deletion, and data processing rights requests against applicable regulations
- Determine which GDPR provisions apply to each specific case and legal grounds for potential refusal
- Produce written legal advice with documented reasoning, argumentation, and balancing of interests
- Identify and flag repetitive, manifestly unfounded, or excessive requests where applicable
- Deliver completed legal analyses on agreed dates, ready for client use in formal decisions
- Apply independent professional judgment on legal methodology and case prioritisation
- Maintain compliance with Dutch data protection law and GDPR throughout all assessments
