About the assignment
A leading organisation in the public sector is professionalising its Identity and Access Management capabilities. You lead a strategic IGA project to build a robust authorisation framework that serves 5,000+ employees.
Your challenge: design a conceptual RBAC/ABAC model, analyse source data gaps, and guide successful implementation across the IAM landscape. You translate business needs into technical controls and ensure the model is owned by stakeholders—not just built by IT.
You will be the go-to expert, mentoring colleagues who will manage this model long-term.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design and build of the RBAC/ABAC authorisation model
- Conduct source data analysis and gap analysis with business data owners
- Design and implement the authorisation model in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Advise on and guide implementation of the model in the organisation's IAM platforms
- Establish documented, agreed procedures for ongoing model maintenance and governance
- Coach internal colleagues to take ownership of model management post-implementation
- Engage and align business units to embrace the new authorisation framework

Must-haves
- Proven track record: led design of multiple RBAC/ABAC models that were successfully implemented in IGA platforms
- Hands-on experience implementing authorisation models in organisations with 5,000+ employees
- Minimum 10 years in various IAM project roles
- Strong communicator who influences business stakeholders and understands their processes
- Ability to mentor colleagues and transfer deep IAM knowledge to internal teams
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, or ForgeRock
- Background in government or public sector IAM
- Practical experience in source data analysis and cleansing for IAM initiatives
