OT Cyber Security Consultant
About the assignment
A leading organisation operating critical infrastructure seeks an OT Cyber Security Consultant to strengthen defences against evolving threats to operational technology systems. You'll work at the intersection of IT and OT security, where traditional cybersecurity meets industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and PLCs.
Your impact is direct: you'll identify vulnerabilities in systems that power essential services, design resilient security architectures, and ensure business continuity without disrupting operations. This role combines technical depth with strategic thinking.
Your responsibilities
- Assess OT/ICS environments for vulnerabilities and compliance gaps using industry-specific tools and methodologies
- Design and implement security architectures that protect operational technology without compromising availability
- Develop and deliver OT security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Conduct security audits and penetration testing on industrial control systems and SCADA networks
- Advise on secure-by-design principles for new OT deployments and legacy system upgrades
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to translate security requirements into practical controls
- Monitor OT networks for anomalies and threat indicators specific to industrial environments
- Stay current with OT-specific threat intelligence and regulatory requirements (IEC 62443, NERC CIP)

Must-haves
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with at least 2 years focused on OT/ICS environments
- Deep knowledge of industrial control systems, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and networked sensors
- Experience with OT security standards (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, or NERC CIP)
- Proven ability to conduct OT vulnerability assessments and security audits
- Strong communication skills to work with non-IT engineering and operations teams
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in energy, water, manufacturing, or transportation sectors
- Hands-on experience with vendor solutions (Claroty, Fortinet OT, Fortess)
- Background in electrical engineering or industrial automation systems
