Privacy Officer (Parttime)
About the assignment
You drive privacy strategy across the organisation, ensuring compliance with GDPR, AI Act, and emerging regulations. You conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs), review data processing activities, and advise leadership on privacy risks.
Your role bridges legal, technical, and business teams. You'll identify gaps in data handling practices, guide incident response when personal data is at risk, and build a privacy-aware culture. Working parttime gives you flexibility while maintaining continuity on strategic privacy initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new projects, systems, and data processing activities
- Monitor regulatory changes (GDPR, AI Act, sector-specific rules) and update policies accordingly
- Investigate data breaches, coordinate incident response, and manage breach notifications
- Advise business units on lawful bases for processing, consent mechanisms, and data subject rights
- Manage vendor assessments and data processor contracts with privacy compliance clauses
- Prepare privacy compliance reports for senior management and board-level governance
- Lead awareness sessions to embed privacy by design into organisational culture

Must-haves
- 5+ years experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
- Deep knowledge of GDPR and data protection law
- Experience conducting PIAs and privacy compliance assessments
- Proven ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational and project management skills
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar privacy platforms
- Familiarity with AI Act requirements and algorithmic accountability
- Background in incident response or security governance
- CIPP/E or CIPM certification
